An Apple Books alternative that runs everywhere else too
Apple Books is a genuinely good EPUB reader. Its limitation is not quality, it is reach: it exists on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and nowhere else. The moment your reading involves a Windows laptop, an Android phone, a Chromebook or a work machine, half your library is on the wrong side of a wall.
A library that outlives the hardware
Reading habits last decades; device allegiances rarely do. A library that only opens on Apple hardware is a library with a condition attached, and the condition is a purchasing decision you have not made yet.

- You read offline often — on flights, on the underground, out of signal.
- You buy books from the Apple Books store.
- You want something already installed, already signed in, and free.
